Caring for your chainmail
Hand-woven stainless steel is built to be worn hard and last a lifetime. A few simple habits keep every ring bright.
EVERYDAY WEAR
Your piece is 316L stainless steel — water-resistant, hypoallergenic, and rust-proof. Wear it in the shower, the rain, or on the job. It’s made to be lived in.
CLEANING
Every few weeks, wash it in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap. Work a soft toothbrush gently through the weave to lift anything caught between the rings, then rinse.
DRYING
Pat it with a lint-free cloth and let it air-dry fully, or use a hair dryer on cool. Drying all the way through keeps water spots out of the weave.
WHAT TO AVOID
No bleach, harsh solvents, or long soaks in chlorinated pools and hot tubs. They won’t rust the steel, but they can dull its finish over time.
STORAGE
Keep it dry and stored flat or hung, away from other jewelry so the weave can’t snag. A soft pouch is perfect between wears.
REPAIRS
Chainmail is tough, but hand-made means human. If a ring ever works open or a clasp needs a look, get in touch — most fixes are quick.
